FROM HAPPY BEGINNINGS...

Our family story is deeply rooted in Happy Hour's history. Forty years ago, Eric and our family were regulars at the original Happy Hour Tavern’s weekly pasta night. That early connection planted a seed in Eric’s heart, which lay dormant as he graduated from Stroudsburg High School and ESU, met Jennifer, and pursued a successful career as a software consulting engineer. Tired of the travel, Eric retired from consulting in 2019 and bought the “seen some better days” Happy Hour Tavern. Together, we transformed it into the beautiful dining and drinking establishment it is today.

Jennifer, a dedicated teacher with 24 years of service in the Stroudsburg Area School District, proudly co-owns Happy Hour Bar & Grill. As a local graduate from East Stroudsburg University (ESU) and an active member of the community, Jennifer brings her passion for education and local involvement to the heart of our establishment. 

Our oldest son, Jamison, has followed in our footsteps by graduating from Stroudsburg High School and now attends Penn State University. Meanwhile, our younger son, Reagan, currently attends Stroudsburg High School, keeping our ties to the community strong.

With Head Executive Chef Oliver Peters at the helm, our menu has evolved far beyond the simple pasta nights of the past. While we still cherish and continue the tradition of our beloved pasta nights, today, we offer a unique and delicious array of dishes that have won over the local community and attracted guests from throughout the Poconos. 

In addition to our regular menu, we provide exceptional catering services, perfect for any event. Whether you’re hosting a gathering at our on-site spaces or need off-site catering at your chosen location, we tailor our offerings to suit your needs, ensuring every occasion is memorable.

Executive Chef Oliver Peters delivers his talent, and over twenty years of culinary experience working around the world, to Metuchen Golf and Country Club. Proficient in a wide variety of cooking techniques and cuisines, Oliver has proven to be nothing short of creative and innovative with a menu full of upscale and unique items for you to savor.
